Not My Narrative

I'm super happy at the renaissance of inclusion in the media. But there's been a lot of what I call 'degradation porn'.

Media that centers around and exalts only our suffering. If we have a seat at the table it's only to bare our soul and tell everyone how wounded we are. I'm kinda over it. There's more to our stories as minority groups than how we suffer.

I think it's time to turn the page. Let the suffering go and show our strength. Center our narrative on our triumphs.
